Dingli’s Coal Slime Drying Project Successfully Implemented in Shouyang, Shanxi

To support the coal industry’s green, low-carbon transition and address the challenge of solid waste disposal (specifically coal slime), Dingli recently completed the implementation and process commissioning of a coal slime drying project in Shouyang, Shanxi. Leveraging its professional drying technology and comprehensive equipment solutions, the company has injected new momentum into the resource utilization of local coal by-products.

This project is a large-scale coal slime drying and disposal operation. The core equipment is designed with a raw material processing capacity of 50 tons per hour, meeting the requirements for continuous, stable, and high-volume production. While the initial plan was based on a raw material moisture content of ≤24%, Dingli’s technical team discovered during on-site surveys that the actual raw coal slime averaged 26% moisture. The material’s high humidity and high viscosity significantly increased the complexity of the drying process.

To address these specific on-site conditions, Dingli moved away from standardized drying solutions and instead optimized equipment structures and process parameters. By employing core technologies such as multi-stage dewatering, constant-temperature drying, and intelligent temperature control, the team successfully overcame the challenges associated with high-moisture coal slime. Ultimately, the moisture content of the dried product was strictly controlled to below 14%, with all product indicators meeting standards and aligning with the client’s production and reuse requirements.

As a primary by-product of coal washing and processing, coal slime often causes environmental issues—such as land occupation, dust pollution, and wastewater leakage—when stockpiled outdoors for long periods, while also representing a waste of energy resources. Thanks to Dingli’s mature drying technology, high-moisture waste coal slime undergoes quality-enhancing drying that significantly boosts its calorific value. This allows it to be recycled as high-quality fuel, effectively turning waste into a valuable resource.

The successful implementation of the Shouyang project demonstrates Dingli’s robust technical capabilities in coal slime drying and solid waste resource utilization, while also building valuable practical experience in handling complex, high-moisture operating conditions. Moving forward, Dingli will continue to deepen its engagement in the fields of energy conservation, environmental protection, and solid waste recycling. The company remains committed to refining its complete drying equipment and solutions, thereby safeguarding clean production, efficient resource utilization, and green, sustainable development within the coal industry.
